Issues

My priority is to support my constituents by fighting for the issues I believe are best for Commerce City Ward 3. Below, read my position on a number of top issues.

A panel discussion with seven people seated at a long table with microphones in front of them, engaged in conversation in a conference room.

Economic Opportunity and Amenities

We all feel the strain of the lack of business growth in Commerce City. Our local government is a key driver of economic development in our community. It sets the tone for how welcoming we are to new businesses and for existing businesses to grow. For too long our city has been passed over for the retail, dining, recreation, and grocery stores that many of our neighboring cities enjoy. As your City Councilor, I will work with our local businesses, city employees, and our neighborhoods to make sure we are creating a business friendly environment in Commerce City that allows for businesses to easily set up shop and for our community to reap the benefits of keeping our hard earned dollars local.

Safe Neighborhoods

Everyone deserves to know they live in a neighborhood that is safe. We all love Commerce City, but currently our community ranks near the top of the state in crime. We can do better for our families. As your City Councilor I will make sure our first responders are well prepared to respond in our most vulnerable moments. I’ll also champion better lighting for our neighborhoods, safer sidewalks, and for traffic calming measures that reduce the street racing and reckless driving that is all too frequent in our city.

Strong Community

Our community is only as strong as our elected leaders ability to take feedback from residents and implement it into city decision making. As your City Councilor, I will have an open door policy to hearing from residents on the matters that are important to you. We all have a stake in the success of Commerce City and we should all have a voice in how the decisions that impact you are made.
